Stephen received the second Xeric Foundation grant (created by Peter Laird) and used it to publish this graphic novel in 1994.

Set in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Red River tells the story of Felix Stone, a student at the University of North Dakota who finds himself to be the number one suspect in a series of grizzly murders… each of which is an ex-girlfriend of his. Here are ten pages from the penultimate chapter.
